Justin Jefferson just created a nightmare for the Cowboys.

No one was happier to see JJ’s record breaking $140 million deal than CeeDee Lamb.

He’s up for an extension, and of course he’ll want similar cash.

This is normal…the same could be said for the Bengals with Chase or the 9ers with Aiyuk…

But what’s absolutely not normal, is all 3 of your best players coming up for contracts at the exact same time…and all 3 demanding a market reset.

Dallas simply doesn’t have the cash to pay their superstar trio of Dak, CeeDee and Micah.

They’re all under contract for 2024, but come March…someone is getting voted off the island.

This essentially makes this season a “Last Dance” type of situation for this iteration of the Cowboys.

Most Dallas fans believe it will be Dak who gets cast off, but if he wins a playoff game…there’s no chance Jerry lets him walk.

This is where things gets even trickier…

If Jerry Jones pays Dak, it’s hard to justify not bringing back his top weapon, meaning it would be Micah who draws the short straw.

There are still Cowboys fans who think Jerry can make the money work to keep all 3…

But I ran the numbers, and it’s shocking:

Let’s say the new average salary of all 3 stars came out to $40 million.

This would be generous considering QB’s make much more. (Burrow makes $55 million at the top of the market).

The Cowboys big 3 would eat up a whopping 47% of the cap!

For comparison here - remember when we were all confused at how the Rams were able to afford Stafford, Donald and Ramsey back in 2021?

Those 3 only at up 24% of the cap

The stakes haven’t been higher for the Cowboys in decades.

It’s do or die in Dallas.
