NBA MVP Won't Be Jokic, Giannis or SGA 🏆

Embiid is out, who’s the MVP?

The MVP has become a 3 man race, but none of these guys (above) are going to win.

I agree that Jokic, SGA and Giannis are the top contenders…

But this is Luka’s award to lose…and the stats back it up.

If we know anything about the MVP, it’s…

  • You must play games

  • You must win games

  • And put up monster stats

Luka checks all 3 boxes, but we can go deeper.

Voters love voting for guys who throw dimes.

Assists mean much more than rebounds.

Look at Steve Nash for example. He won back to back MVPs over Kobe:

  • 1st MVP: 15 pts, 11 asts

  • 2nd MVP: 18 pts, 10 asts

Luka is making Nash’s numbers look tiny. He’s averaging an eye popping 35, 10 & 9!!!

There’s only 3 guys in NBA history to average 30+ points & 10+ assists (Oscar Robertson, Nate Archibald & Russell Westbrook)…

None of them averaged more than 34 points. Luka is on a different planet right now.

His average game would be the best night of most guys career

Of course, the only missing piece is wins, but his Mavs aren’t far off.

History says you can’t win MVP if you’re team is in the play-in tourney.

Right now the Mavs are sitting in the 8 seed, but they’re only 2.5 wins back from the 6 seed.

All they need to do is…

  • String a few wins together

  • Finish strong

  • And get out of the play-in

If that happens, Luka will not only jump these guys in the odds, but he’ll have his first of several MVPs.
