The NBA All-Star 1v1 Tournament 🏆

NBA 1v1 Tournament

The NBA has once again changed the way the All-Star game works.

Adam Silver ditched the draft, but if he really want to give the fans a show…

He’ll stop toying with the game and give us what we really want.

The NBA figured out a long time ago that you must market the stars.

You could argue it’s worked too well.

Many fans follow stars over teams, which it makes it all the more surprising that the league hasn’t given us a 1v1 tournament.

It’s not like players don’t play.

When Harden was forcing his way out of Brooklyn, a story broke that he was pissed because Kyrie was beating him in 1v1 after practice everyday.

The fans will absolutely eat this up at All-Star Weekend. Here’s how it would work:

You get 32 guys and randomly seed them.

The whole tourney is make it take it and the games move quick.

This is all 1 night:

The first couple rounds are to 3, the next couple are to 5, and the championship is played to 11.

When a winner emerges, he’s greeted by the previous winner in exactly the same fashion as the green jacket at the Masters.

Except instead of a jacket, it’s a Championship Belt.

(I love wearable trophies)

This would easily leap the Dunk Contest as the best challenge of the weekend, because unlike the dunk contest…

The NBA wouldn’t have to beg G-Leaguers to get involved.
