Dan Hurley’s will get the lion’s share of the credit for UCONN’s back to back titles…

But lurking in the shadows is the man who designed one of the greatest offenses in NCAA history.

Luke Murray (pictured above) isn’t just UCONN’s brilliant assistant coach…

He’s the son of comedic icon Bill Murray.

Hurley hired Luke in 2021 and he’s since been described by star players like Alex Karaban as a “basketball genius”.

There isn’t an obvious connection between basketball and comedy, but if you look closer you can see how Luke’s dad rubbed off on him.

The greatest comedians have mastered observation.

They take an obscure everyday event and transform it into a laughter.

Luke does the same, but instead of everyday events and laughter…

He turns obscure professional leagues into points for UCONN.

It’s hard enough to watch all of American basketball.

Luke’s become well known for his habit of watching every international league he can get eyes on.

In an article from the Wall Street Journal Hurley was quoted saying…

“We’ve watched them all, teams in Turkey, even the Japanese League”

The results are undeniable.

UCONN has won twice since Luke landed at the program.

They’re the first back to back champs since Florida in ’06, ’07, and their 23.3 point average margin of victory is a March Madness record.

Hurley has gone on record to say, it’ll be hard to keep him around much longer.

Don’t sleep on Luke Murray when he gets a huge job this Spring.
